BMW Reveals Electric 1-series Concept ActiveE
BMW has revealed the pure electric version of the 1-series coupe, known as the BMW 1-series Concept ActiveE, which will be presented at the 2010 Detroit Motor Show.
The BMW Concept ActiveE follows the all-electric MINI E as the second large-scale electric vehicle test program to be conducted in the hands of interested customers.The Concept ActiveE, the new four-seater foreshadows a production version set for a limited lease program for preferred customers in Europe and North America, beginning in late 2010.
The BMW Concept ActiveE has allowed BMW to explore new vehicle packaging solutions and components which will be crucial to the success of the Megacity Vehicle project.

BMW is not providing too many details about the lease program. The production version of the Concept ActiveE is set to be shown at the Paris Motor Show next September.
